Brown backs nuclear expansion

Speaking after meeting oil industry executives, the prime minister linked the fuel crisis to the role nuclear could play in increasing the UK's energy security by reducing dependence on imported gas.
"We want to do more to diversify our supply of energy and that's why I think we are pretty clear that we will have to do more than simply replace existing nuclear capability in Britain," Mr Brown said. "We will be more ambitious for our plans for nuclear in the future. ... Read full article
