Industrial CHP potential in UK put at 16-GW by Poyry report

Britain's major industrial sites have the potential to provide enough electricity to power two-thirds of UK households in a move that could halve gas imports, according to a report released Thursday by Poyry Energy Consulting.

The report, 'Securing Power', has identified nine industrial sites where installation of combined heat and power (CHP) plants could provide 13,000-MW of a total 16,000-MW industrial CHP potential.
